Morrison Industries Expands Capabilities with Opening of New Facility in Novi, Michigan

DETROIT–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Morrison Industries, a large-scale fabrication business and leading maker of specialized shipping racks for the automotive industry, today announced the grand opening of its new 50,000 square-foot facility in Novi, Mich. The plant will better serve Morrison’s customer base, which includes the top 10 automotive manufacturers in North America such as Ford, GM and Nissan.

In addition to Morrison’s corporate headquarters in Lebanon, Tenn., and its 150,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Morrison, Tenn., the new facility expands Morrison’s footprint and capacity to supply packaging products for an array of automotive components to all automotive OEMs in North America.

The company’s Novi plant is headed by general manager Jacqueline Bell, a veteran industry executive who joined Morrison in 2017 to establish and lead Morrison Industries North. The new plant will employ more than 200 workers over the next two years across a broad range of manufacturing roles, including welders, fabricators, maintenance, general office staff and other technical and non-technical positions.

“The decision to expand our presence into the greater Detroit area was a logical step in our growth strategy,” said Jacob Wilson, CEO of Morrison Industries. “The area is rich with diverse automotive talent and home to many of our customers. The Novi facility provides a strong geographic advantage to serve northern auto manufacturers and tier 1 companies and will also increase capacity at our Tennessee facility, which will benefit our customers nationwide.”
